LCNW Finish Classification
Put a class on the PO, get that surface.
Four classes decide how we handle, protect and finish your parts from the rack to the truck. If die marks aren’t acceptable and we need to form with die rubber, say so on the PO.
Class AArchitectural
No visible scratches or imperfections when viewed casually. Usually #4 stainless or sheet under laser vinyl that stays on; both sides may need to be clean.
Hot rolled steel can’t be guaranteed blemish-free.
Class BPolished or plated
Will be polished or plated for visible cosmetic use. Minor scratches that finishing hides are fine, as long as a fingernail doesn’t catch.
The fingernail test
Class CPowder coat ready
Will be powder coated, plated or DA sanded to a uniform look. Light scratches or scuffs that finishing removes are acceptable.
Most painted parts
Class DStructural
Machine or structural parts where looks don’t matter. Forklift marks and handling flaws are fine if strength isn’t affected.
